With the popularity of engine downsizing, turbocharging and exhaust after-treatment systems, the market is in need of engine oils that can meet increasingly stringent emission regulations and efficiency demands. In response, we introduced the all-new WOLF OFFICIALTECH 5W30 C3 LL III, a significant upgrade of the existing OFFICIALTECH 5W30 LL III.

Wolf OFFICIALTECH 5W30 C3 LL III

This lubricant is developed for modern VAG engines that meet Euro 4, 5 and 6 emission requirements. The improvements compared to the previous OFFICIALTECH 5W30 LL III are the new API SP and MB 229.52 (official approval) specifications, on top of the existing ACEA C3, VW 504.00/507.00 (official approval) and BMW LONGLIFE-04 (official approval in request).

This increase in specifications makes the 5W30 C3 LL III stand out from the previous 5W30 LL III in terms of oxidative stability, piston cleanliness, wear protection and corrosion prevention linked to the API SP specification. To top it all off, it also has strengthened fuel economy, thanks to the MB 229.52 specification.

Now let’s take a deeper dive in the lubricant itself.

The lubricant’s low viscosity helps to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions by decreasing overall energy consumption. An advanced package of additives means that the oil minimises engine friction for longer, significantly extending oil drain intervals without compromising on lubrication performance.

The importance of exhaust after-treatment devices like GPFs and DPFs cannot be understated, but did you know that some engine oils can stop them from working? If a lubricant contains too high an amount of sulphated ash, phosphorus and sulphur (SAPS), it can clog up these filters.

OFFICIALTECH 5W30 C3 LL III has been designed as a mid SAPS in order to contain less sulphated ash, phosphorus and sulphur to protect after-treatment devices and help maintain low-emission operation.

The oil is able to maintain its performance thanks to a high oxidative stability. This prevents the fluid from oxidizing and improves the lifespan of the engine. In fact, this oil includes a number of technologies to protect modern engines. Its formulation protects and helps mitigate low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI), which is a common problem for these engines that can cause significant harm over time. It also helps to eliminate the formation of deposits and sludge within the engine.

Lastly, our upgraded engine oil III covers approximately 112 million European vehicles. This comprehensive car park coverage is excellent news for workshops and technicians, who can service a wide variety of vehicles by using only one high quality engine oil, which provides excellent protection and long-life performance.

With all these benefits present, it is clear why so many workshops across Europe are starting to use Wolf Lubricants to keep their customers moving.

With precision and perfection in mind, we never stop driving innovation forward.
